Assembly News

Our students and community were thrilled to have the Bollywood performers dance at assembly this morning. We would like to thank them for being culturally inclusive by sharing their costumes, music and dances with our community. As mentioned at assembly, the fashion parade was a huge success in many ways. We are pleased to announce that the funds raised from the fashion night will be used to buy a 3DColour Printer for our students’ use within the classroom environment.

Seating designed by Susi Leeton and Clare Cussons, members of Buildings and Grounds sub committee, will be constructed on the expansive decking at the western end of the school, during the school holidays. Funds from the movie night held earlier in the year will be used to construct the new seating. Basketball rings for the junior children, have also been purchased and are available for use. I look forward to feedback regarding durability and suitability of this product.

The Inter School Skiing Competition was well represented by our community with over twenty students involved this year. The snow was fresh and the weather conditions generally favourable. Already suggestions and feedback are being received for further improvements in 2017. We look forward to further developing the program as our community interest increases. Thank you to Mr Neville for representing Toorak Primary School and supporting our students and families during the competition.

Mr Steve Carota will fly home to Canada tomorrow. We wish Steve all the best on his return home and thank him for his contribution to our school over the past four years.

Many parents have expressed interest in the OSHClub running a Holiday Program. Currently a survey from OSHClub is being circulated to determine the level of interest in such a program. Please ensure you complete the survey, if you prefer to have an onsite holiday program.

Last Tuesday staff enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by Lily Ajaimi’s family. Lily’s mum Megan provided the funds to buy the food through her company,” Urban Commercial Property Management”. Lily’s dad George and Aunty Rose prepared the lunch for staff. On behalf of staff members, I would like to thank Lily’s family for their generosity.
