As part of Book Week this week Grade 2 engaged in an incursion with DC Green, author of the Erasmus James series, Stinky Squad and Three Little Surfer Pigs. DC’s enthusiasm for creative writing was evident and the students expressed their enjoyment of the opportunity to hear him talk. His presentation, which included students beat boxing as he rapped, was entertaining as well as educational. He entwined hilarious stories with excellent writing tips that left the students wanting to write their own stories. We eagerly look to see how students incorporate DC’s strategies into their Big Write this week.
