Grade 1 News

Grade 1 moving along

We’re nearly through with the third week of classes, and things are shaping up really well. It was really exciting to see all children eager to learn after the school holidays.

Grade 1 Leaders

We are excited to announce our school leaders from Grade 1: Junior Council Representatives, Green Team and Class Captains.

They will be honoured and receive a badge at assembly this Friday, 16th Feb.

Each leader was chosen based on showing responsibility so far and potential for growth. Students who weren’t chosen will be offered different leadership positions within the classroom.

Junior Council Representative: Members will be the voice of students, meeting with other students then communicating results back to the class. These students will also choose fundraising activities, such as crazy hair day or teacher-student contests.

Parent Reps

Parent reps will be notified by this Friday, 16th Feb. If you are interested in becoming a parent rep, please tell one of us by end of the day on Thursday.

Classroom library

As we practice picking a just-right book, and enjoying being a community of readers, we would like your child to bring a favourite book for the class to share..

Please bring in 1 book for our classroom library — LABELLED. These will be returned each term.

(In our first newsletter, we asked for 3, but 1 is fine, and other books can be brought in other terms.)

Class Timetables and Chatterbox Topics are on Compass
