Grade 2 have started a unit on Chemical Science for Inquiry. Students are having fun looking at different materials – solids, liquids, natural materials and unnatural materials, and how they can change when heated, cooled and mixed.
We have been completing many experiments and students have been thinking scientifically, making hypothesis and changing variables.
To start the unit, students went on a trip to Scienceworks. During our excursion students were lead in some seminars on ‘thinking critically’ and ‘how liquids and gasses effect the weather’.
