The Grade 3’s and 4’s are excited that their sustainability classes are beginning next week! We will be working in classes with the classroom teacher and Mr. Beck, starting with soil preparation. As an introduction to sustainability this term we are really looking to promote enthusiasm towards gardening through inquiry-based learning and activities. Students will be developing their skills of observation, participation, teamwork, planning, design and maintenance.
So that students are able to get their hands dirty we will be running these lessons with several small group activities. To make these run more efficiently, we would really benefit from having some parent helpers volunteering during the sessions. These classes will occur on Mondays and Wednesdays so if you are able to volunteer your green thumbs at any time, please speak to your classroom teacher.
