In week 8, the Grade 5/6s participated in the incredibly engaging Smoothie Bar business excursion. The excursion covered everything from collecting market research data (including producing graphs for their data), calculating costs and profits, trialing smoothie flavours, receiving and taking on feedback and pitching their smoothie business to the “shark tank”. Teachers were extremely proud to see students showing exemplary team work skills and the final pitches were all to a very high standard. Thank you Mini Boss Incursions for providing such a valuable learning experience!
The work they did in the incursion will now directly influence the way students run their Earn & Learn businesses and also a great introduction to our data unit in maths. Students are currently collecting and analysing data about our school musical, Aladdin (1 week to go!)
In Sustainability, students have been creating social enterprises with Mr Beck. This Friday, students will be selling their seedlings that they hand planted in class. Make sure you come down before the assembly to grab a few of your favourite fruits, greens, herbs or chillies for your own veggie patches or the kitchen window sill! All funds raised will go towards the Grade 6 Graduation.
