Grade 5/6 Week 8-9 Blog

Grade 5/6 have just completed a unit exploring the properties of fractions. To round off the unit students completed an investigation by creating “Wanted” posters for two fractions. Furthermore, they explored the similarities and differences between the fractions by drawing them, finding equivalent fractions, adding them, subtracting from them and comparing the results.

Please enjoy some of the posters the students created below.

In week 10, students are starting a new maths investigation for the unit of location and transformation, called the TPS Young Architects Project. Students are using translation, rotation, reflection and enlargement as well as scale and key to challenge themselves to create a new school design.
