Dear Grade 5 & 6 Parents/Guardians,
We have had a couple of parents asking for clarification on Grade 5 & 6 Homework…
From Term 2, Grade 5/6 students will complete a Big Write approximately every 2 weeks. The prompt will be handed out to students on a Wednesday, the Big Write will be on the Thursday and a review of the writing will take place on a Friday. Please check with your Grade 5/6 student whether they have a prompt to research for/discuss at home with you on Wednesdays. Mathletics tasks will continue to be set on a Thursday and due the following Thursday. Maths tasks will be set by your Number Group teacher. Literacy Planet spelling tasks will begin to be assigned as of the start of term 2, with all staff recently trained during a Curriculum Day in strategies to improve spelling ability. Students will also be required to undertake research and work collaboratively with other students to prepare for presentations for their Inquiry units of work.
