Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

There has been a confirmed case of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease in the Foundation Year Level.  Hand, foot and mouth disease is a common illness in infants and children. It is characterized by fever, sores in the mouth, and a rash with blisters.  It occurs in warmer months and is transmitted by direct contact with secretions from the nose, throat, saliva and fluid from associated blisters.

If your child is suffering with this illness, the Department of Education’s policy states that the student should be excluded from attending school until all the blisters have dried.

Thank you for your support in this matter.
