Landscaping our Garden

Many school gardens are limited in their scope and the level of student participation in areas such as planning and design.

With the funds raised at the recent Trivia night and sausage sizzle, Toorak Primary School and its parent community are taking a different approach: the re-design and implementation of our school grounds and garden is in the hands of our students from Grade Prep to 6.

Following on from detailed co-design studies and plant selection by our Grade 3s and 4s this term, our Grade 5s and 6s will undertake the landscaping in term 3, then our Grade Prep, 1s and 2s will do the planting out in term 4.

The process is backed by our Sustainability Leader Mr. Beck and our parents and architects Clare Cousins, Melanie Beynon and Susi Leeton from the buildings and grounds subcommittee.

We are expecting an exceptional garden, planned and built by the students and community for the students and community.
