Do you have a child in PREP, Year 1 or 2 who is not currently playing, but would like to be introduced to Basketball in Term 1 2018?
Playball’s main intake of new Training Teams occurs in Term 1 of each year with up to 40 new teams training. Most children commence in Year 1. To prepare children for basketball competition in Term 2 2018, a Term of training is highly recommended. Teams of up to 10 children participate in weekly training sessions at MSAC, Albert Park on Fridays between 4:00pm and 7:00PM. Playball’s experienced Basketball Coaches conduct the 40 minute sessions. Each child is provided with a size 5 basketball for use during the session. All equipment is provided.
Children are taught the basics of individual basketball skills – dribbling, passing, shooting, ball handling, defence and moving the ball in offence. Team work is fostered through team activities and short modified basketball games at most training sessions.
New Training Teams commence competition against other ex-training teams in Term 2. Rings are lowered where possible for Year 1’s. Teams play in a Boys league or Girls league in each School Year Level. Playball runs a Coaches Workshop early Term 2 for all would-be-Coaches.
