My Super Powers

Our Junior Girls’ Groups are currently working on a Super Powers activity. As the girl’s identified, all too often we are able to easily come up with negative words to describe ourselves or we describe ourselves based on what we can ‘do’ rather than who we innately are. Each of the groups had some wonderful discussions as we workshopped this together, coming up with words that describe who we naturally are, in other words, qualities that we were born with.

After ‘heart-storming’ our Super Powers over the past few weeks, the girls are now preparing their very own Power Flags that represent their uniqueness and amazingness. This was a beautiful opportunity to talk about beauty and how true beauty always comes from within, forever there waiting, for us to bring it out. And that there is no image of beauty that will ever surpass the beauty that is already equally within us all. We also talked about strength and that true strength is not about being physically strong necessarily but more an inner-strength in connecting to our sensitivity – being sensitive to what we feel and to what others are feeling also.

Some words the girls came up with are –

Powerful, Strong, Precious, Sweet, Wise, Magical, Divine, Gorgeous, Beautiful, Courageous, Responsible, Delicate, Sensitive, Delightful, Gentle, Caring, Loving, Nurturing, Respectful, Welcoming, Joyful, Curious, Expressive, Amazing, Playful, Graceful, Kind, Magnificent.

The girls are very keen to present their flags at assembly when they are complete. So stay tuned!
