Principal Message

As is usual at this time of year, preparations for 2018 are in full swing. Several staff members will be moving on to other government schools to further their teaching careers or simply to experience another educational environment. As a result, staff selection panels have been formed to appoint new staff for Toorak Primary School. To date, the standard of applicant this has been outstanding.  New staff members, as well as those moving on, will share their journeys with the school community in the near future.

Internal transition day will take place on December 12. At this stage all new staff members will be in attendance to meet their 2018 students thanks to the generosity of their current principals. In order to ensure a smooth transition from one school to another, a full day will be dedicated to inducting all new staff. Workshops to outline the Toorak Primary School approach to Literacy, Numeracy, Wellbeing and Digital Technology will be provided on December 8th.

Special considerations for 2018 student placements will be accepted until December 1st. After this date no further requests will be accepted. Once children have been placed into classes it will not be possible to move them from the allocated grade.

Classes will be held as usual on Monday November 6th at Toorak Primary School. Tuesday however, is a public holiday for the Melbourne Cup.

The disco held last Friday night was an extremely enjoyable and well supported evening. Special thanks to event co-ordinator Lisa Hollister, Reuben’s mum, for her hours of work ensuring the night was a success for our students.
