This week NAPLAN assessments will be undertaken in Years Three and Five. Teachers have been preparing students over the past few weeks to ensure they reach their full potential. Historically, our school performs very well against State, Network and Similar school benchmarks. Results should be available in a few weeks at which time you will be informed. Please ensure your child comes to school well rested and well nourished to undertake the NAPLAN assessments.
Foundation Mother’s Day celebrations were well attended last Wednesday. Our children sang beautifully before enjoying a delicious morning tea with our visitors in the hall. Later craft activities were completed with mothers/grandmothers/ aunties where precious, unique gifts were crafted to take home. So that all other children in the school had a gift for Mother’s Day, event leader, Jackie Middleton ensued stalls provided interesting gifts for the special women in our community. Thank you Jackie!
Curriculum Day last Thursday, was a wonderful professional development opportunity for all Toorak Primary School staff along with others from Murrumbeena and South Yarra Primary School. Misty Ardoniou provided a range of strategies for staff to implement when teaching the craft of writing.
