Principal Update

After speaking to the Education Department representative during the week, I have been informed that the stairs at the western end of the school should be completed and ready for use in the next couple of weeks. The steps currently comply with building regulations but it was felt through the Buildings and Grounds Sub Committee that they are too steep for school children to use. When the stairs have been completed, we will begin construction of the seating designed by parents, Clare Cousins and Susi Leeton. The movie night funds, from last year, have been allocated to the project. I apologise for the delay in the construction of the seating  but felt it better to wait until the new building and surroundings were fully completed. Access along the northern side of the school will no longer be required as an entrance for the disabled, for the time being. We are looking forward to reinstating the bike shed and the linkway roofing. Students will with work with Mr Beck to design and plant the garden area at the western end of the school.

Currently, all staff are enthusiastically writing mid year reports for our students. As noted in the Resilience Project presentation to staff, “It is an honour and a privilege to write a report for each student.” Student Progress Reports will be uploaded onto Compass on Friday June 23rd. In the following week, Parent/Teacher Interviews will be held on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th of June. Foundation to Year Two interviews will take place on Monday 26th with Years Three to Year Six on Tuesday. As in previous years, bookings will be through Compass. Families will be notified when the bookings are open for use. If the days allocated are unsuitable, please contact your classroom teacher.

On Friday June 30th, Term Two will conclude with students finishing at 2.30. I wish to remind families that Team Holiday will be facilitating a holiday program on school grounds throughout the term holidays.
