Student Code of Conduct – Behaviours and Consequences Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

A team of very hard working students from grade 4 to 6 have been meeting with me regularly to work on updating our Code of Conduct to be much more student friendly. They have interviewed students from across the school and every grade had the opportunity to provide examples of what they believed the Code should look like in 2019. The ideas and further feedback were reviewed by the team to determine the final Code of Conduct for 2019.

The students will be presenting at assembly on Friday to share what they have been doing to improve our current behaviours and consequences.

Some of the changes have been:

  1. Addition of TPS Values and examples of what they mean.
  2. Addition of year 6 peer mediators in resolving playground disputes and assisting in Reflection Room restorative conversations with junior students.
  3. Easy to read language that can be understood in the Junior and Senior school.

It has been a pleasure to work with this team of students and they should be very proud of their efforts to improve our school through positive student voice.
