On Tuesday the Toorak Primary Boys tee-ball team competed in the Beachside Divisional Playoff at Bailey Reserve in Bentleigh East. The boys have been hard at work training regularly to prepare for this competition, and their hard work has paid off!
Facing Gardenvale Primary School in the Beachside playoff, the Toorak boys put on an excellent display of hitting and fielding. We led the game from start to finish, winning by a very convincing margin! The attack was led with three homeruns by Fosco T, and two each by Ellis A and George B. Team defence was very consistent, with special mention to highlight-reel plays by Charlie W making a tough backhand play and Fosco T’s alert throw to first base all the way from centre field. Gus C was consistent all day at shortstop and did fantastic with his communication as the anchor of the defence. Great work to all the boys on their fantastic effort!
Next up for the Boys is the Southern Metro Regional Championships, held as a tournament on 16 August in Mornington. Our girls team has already qualified for the same tournament as the only representative from the Beachside division, and will play in Mornington on the following day.
