TPS Compass Email Trial- reminder regarding protocols and email content

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you are finding the Compass trial to be an effective and improved form of communicating directly with classroom teachers. This post is a gentle reminder that, to ensure the success of the trial, it is essential that the protocols for respectful communication are abided by.

These include:

1. Keeping emails brief, informative and respectful. Issues that require a level of detailed discussion should be dealt with in person or over the phone.

2. Requesting a meeting with a staff member if a topic may be contentious, sensitive or require ongoing dialogue.

3. Not using Compass emailing to discuss in detail your child’s academic progress, learning expectations, or behavioural issues. Please request a meeting via email to discuss your child’s emotional and academic needs.

Thank you everyone for your support regarding effective and positive ongoing communication.
