TPS Tee-Ball Girls are Champions!

Girls Tee-Ball SMR Champs 2016

Congratulations to the TPS girls tee-ball team on a fantastic victory in today’s Southern Metro Regional Tournament! Our girls represented Toorak Primary fantastically as they played in a tournament against the best teams from the city all the way down to Portsea.

Our first game was against Mt. Martha Primary. The nerves were showing early on but our girls quickly found their composure and excelled both with the bats and on the field.  After scoring the maximum runs in an inning (7) twice, the TPS girls won comfortably by a score of 14-4.

The second game was played against Lakeside Primary from Pakenham. The girls again got off to a slow start and were tied at 2 after the second inning. The TPS bats came alive shortly after, with our girls finding their stride and everyone contributing to scoring more than twenty runs over the next 4 innings. With two victories in the group stage, TPS qualified for the Grand Final against Westall Primary School and a chance to move on to the State Championships!

With the tournament on the line and facing their stiffest competition yet, TPS did not disappoint. The girls played their absolute best under the pressure of the finals. Every member of the team contributed to the effort with their hitting and their stellar defensive play. When all was said and done, the final score was Toorak Primary winning by a score of 21-17.

Congratulations to all our girls for their phenomenal effort. These girls have given up countless hours during lunch and recess to train and learn how to play the game the right way. Their preparation and understanding of the game was unparalleled and easily what separated them from the competition! Fantastic effort girls, and best of luck at the State Finals in September!
