Walk Safely to School Day

National Walk to School Safely Day is on Friday the 19th of May. The aim of the event is to encourage school children and their parents and carers to walk regularly and safely to school.

If you walk to school, you will be provided with breakfast kindly donated by members of the community. Thank you Toscanos Fruit & Veg in Hawksburn and Woolworths in Toorak Road. Breakfast will be served from 8.15-8.45 by Junior School Council and staff members.

If you live too far to walk the whole way, try walking part of it!

Some road safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Children up to eight years old should hold an adult’s hand on the footpath, in the car park, or when crossing the road.
  • Children up to ten years old should be actively supervised in the traffic environment and should hold an adult’s hand when crossing the road.

Lace up your runners and we’ll see you on Friday the 19th of May!
