In Inquiry we have been learning about Chemical Sciences and in Writing about procedure texts and recipes. Students have been busy creating recipe books ready for our open classroom in Term 4.
Students participated in a chemical science incursion on Tuesday 3rd March called Itsy Bitsy Chef. This incursion aimed to give children a skill that is life long through a range of cooking classes. Science and Maths concepts were investigated, world views and the history of ingredients were explored and the importance of health and the impact food has on the body was discussed.
We conducted experiments that gave meaning to the Curriculum content and invaluable skills of cooking, kitchen safety, how to read and understand recipes and the joy of contributing to the family. Students had a ball!
