TPS: Responsibility Challenge

At TPS, one of our school values is responsibility. Responsibility is having a duty to achieve something and being accountable for an outcome, and we want to foster this within our students.

We will be focusing on this with our students in class and have set up a school wide challenge to develop a sense of responsibility within our school.

Our main focus for responsibility in this challenge is taking accountability to keep our school and their personal belongings tidy and neat.

It is called ‘200 Points to New Playground Equipment’

Everyday the school will be scored out of 10 for its overall tidiness. Including:

  • rubbish in bins
  • jumpers, hats and personal equipment all in school bags
  • walkways tidy and classrooms tidy.

It is the responsibility of the collective whole to be proud of our facilities and keep them in the best possible condition.

When we reach the total of 200 the school will purchase new play equipment for the passive play space to be introduced in between the decking area.

We also want to foster a sense of responsibility for our students in the local community. Therefore, we want to encourage our students to clean up an area close to where they live (a local park, your street, etc.). If students complete this act, take a photo and show your child’s classroom teacher. Students will get bonus points to the whole school tally if they complete an act of responsibility in the community!

We look forward to see the progress of our students responsibility this term.
