3B in The Garden

DSC08516“Rain, hail or shine,” responded Miss Gibson to our concerns about the weather, and out we went. We were greeted down by the bird aviary, with the smile of Amelia, from Bunnings Warehouse, and the intermittent spray of rain. Although only a few moments later, we didn’t notice the rain anymore as we were indulged in information about the plants we were about to be planting. Amelia spoke of the importance of random planting design, she said that “the more random, creative, sporadic and odd the plant placement is, the better!”

After collaboratively designing the garden bed’s plant placement, Amelia reiterated how to successfully plant the Viola Hederacea, Lomandra Little Con and the Lomandra Lime Tuff. We felt ‘as dirty as a pig in mud and we LOVED it!”

Roughly 80 plants later, we had created a warm and inviting entrance to our school. We can’t thank Amelia from Bunnings enough for her kind donation of plants and time. Please check it out and watch it grow, and remember to keep off the garden beds!
