Fire Safety with the Fire Brigade!

At the end of Term 1 and the beginning of Term 2, Foundation had the privilege of learning about fire safety from our local fire brigade. Learning from this team of firemen was extra special because Alice in Prep B has a dad who is a fireman!

After going over what safe and unsafe fires look like, Firefighter Paul and his team gave all of our students homework over the holidays. Many of them came back from the term break knowing where they needed to go in case of a fire in their home, their “Safe Meeting Place”.

On the fire brigade’s second visit all of Foundation students were able to see what it was like inside a real firetruck and got to spray water from the hose (the grass on the oval was looking extra green that day!). The students wrote stories about their time with the firemen, and they are still talking about it! Make sure to have a safe meeting place set up with  your families.

We are so thankful for the local firefighters who took the time to give us Fire Education. A special shoutout to Firefighter Paul!
