Student Led Community Night

On Monday we celebrated our teaching, learning and successes by holding an annual report meeting (ARM) which was renamed this year as “Student Led Community Evening’. It was a great occasion to see some of our amazing student leaders present, what we are currently doing well in our school and what future directions we will be taking.

Thank-you also to the amazing Yr 2 singers, lead by Mrs. Wuttke, who entertained us with two songs that they had learnt over the last few weeks.

For those who were unable to make the night our annual report is available on the school website.

The annual report presentation was then followed by a relevant and thought provoking presentation by Adam Voigt. Adam, from Real Schools, will be working with our staff, students and parents, over the next three years to continue to  build a culture in which all students can thrive, learn, succeed and be genuinely happy while they do it. Adam has extensive qualifications in Student Well-being and a breadth of practical school experience.

We will be building, with Adam, on our Restorative Practices to encourage engagement and build pride, respect and responsibility in each individual student. The school is committed to the Real Schools program, which implements Restorative Practices across the school, to maximise student engagement and well-being and social justice approaches. Restorative Practices seeks to value and support those involved so that they feel empowered to take positive action to address the situation and move forward. This will be extended to the classroom and be the basis for respectful communication, relationships and how to respond to behavioural issues.
