Monday 12th of August, the Year 3’s had an excursion to Scienceworks, as we have been learning about Night and Day Science. We attended the Planetarium and watched the movie Tilt. We were lucky enough to view all the other exhibitions and overall had a very fun day.
In Literacy we have been learning about Narratives. We have been encouraging students to create detailed mind maps and include more WOW words (adjectives). Did you know there are five different ways to describe a character using adjectives? They are size, shape, colour, number and texture. We also have been teaching students about including ‘Show don’t tell’ into their narratives, describing what is happening, not telling what is happening in the their stories.
