Toorak Primary School runs weekly Digital Literacy classes for the Grade 5 & 6’s. The classes focus on a variety of digital technologies as well as the language and literacy that accompanies them. Students will focus on using computer programs such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Sony Vegas, Movie Maker and more. They will also have access to the green screen where they will be filming short films and pieces for the weekly news. Throughout all lessons there will be a strong focus on a variety of literacy skills including summarizing, script writing, interviewing and speaking and listening.
Toorak Primary School also has a large number of iPads, iTouches, digital cameras and computers that are utilised by students across the curriculum. Year 3-6 students also participate in the Netbook Program.
