It was a majestic, immaculate hot day, that we had been waiting for, where the leaves were green and shining in the sun. “Today we are going to pick some vegetables, such as; kale, carrot, lettuce, mint and 1 big beetroot.”
Everybody set to work, pulling fresh, colourful, spring veggies out of the deep, brown soil. While we were picking green lettuce, some people found some slugs in the vegetables!
The sunflowers were shining florescent yellow. Lettuce was picked and slugs were removed, I guarantee you, the vegetables looked delicious!
Then we headed up to the kitchen, we washed all the lettuce and the vegetables. It made a huge mess but it was worth it.
After that we packaged the lettuce in glad wrap and put it on a tray to distribute.
We looked at the kitchen and we were disgusted by the look of it, so we decided to clean it up. We started wiping down the tables, putting the beans in the bin and drying the tables as well.
Overall, we had a ball, and love spending time in the garden and kitchen.
