Canberra Camp – Day 4

Our final day in Canberra began with a tour of the many different Embassies and Consulates from around the world. We were all amazed by the enormous size of the American Embassy, and loved the beautiful architecture of the Chinese Embassy. We also saw The Lodge where our Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull lives, unfortunately he wasn’t home so we didn’t stop in for a cup of tea…

At the Electoral Education Centre we learned how a Federal election works. We then took to the polling office where a democratic vote saw the ‘Peach’ party come out on top in a landslide win. We loved our voting experience and look forward to the opportunity to vote once we turn 18.

At the National Capital Exhibition, lovely volunteer Ian led us through an enlightening story of how Canberra came to be. We were then given the opportunity to build our very own piece of Canberra with Lego.

At the National Archives of Australia we learned how difficult it was to enter Australia before 1951 because of the Dictation Test.
Our final stop was at National Gallery of Australia.

‘Toorak Primary School’ Got Talent’ was great fun and everyone who participated did a great job! Well done to our winners ‘Bumble Bee Productions’ with their very creative and captivating movie trailer.
