On Monday 23 May, Channel 10’s much loved weather presenter Mike Larkin will do his LIVE weather report from TPS. Let’s give Mike the warmest welcome in this chilly weather! In fact, let’s give him the best reception he’s ever had from a school. Mike and his crew will arrive at 4.30pm and the LINK van will be parked in the grassed area of the Prep Playground. Everyone is welcome to come along and meet Mike, ask him questions and see how TV is made. The two live weather reports will be done at 5.25pm and 5.55pm. If you want to be part of the segment and be seen on TV, bring your biggest smile and cleanest uniform to school by 5.15 for a rehearsal. (Mums and dads, cats and dogs all welcome!) It will all be over by 6pm. Due to the high chance of rain, the segment will be recorded in the hall and thanks to Miss Sinker who is organising the room to be decorated in weather themed posters. Also thank to Miss Lomas who is co-ordinating the TPS News Team to film Mike and his crew filming TPS! George Ajaimi (Grade 1 Dad) from Coles is yet again supporting TPS by supplying sausages, bread, tomato sauce and fruit for our BBQ that night, which we will fire up at 4.30pm – BUT VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO HELP MANAGE THE BBQ. This will make it easier for kids to be fed on a school night and to enjoy the event.
If you can, please donate a gold coin on the night (or before hand if you can’t make it) which will go towards a greenhouse which Mr Coleman and the Green Team will build which will help us grow seedlings and plants to green our grounds.
