Day 2 Canberra Camp

Hi Parents,

Wow – what a busy day we’ve had!

The students have enjoyed a jam-packed day visiting many different places, including the Electoral Education Centre, where they learnt all about the voting system and even got the chance to fill out a ballot paper and vote themselves!

Group 2 visited the Museum of Australian Democracy, where students learnt about the history of democracy in Australia and visited the House of Representatives at Old Parliament.

All students visited the High Court of Australia, where they learnt about the 3 highest levels of legal procedures in Australia. They continued to learn about the history of the constitution and had the opportunity to sit in all 3 courtrooms.

Mt. Ainslie Lookout provided everyone with amazing views of Canberra and the National Science and Technology Centre (Questacon) was a BIG hit! The students were highly engaged and challenged themselves, with some even facing their fears on the freefall slide!

We finished the day off with a yummy spaghetti bolognaise and a game of ten pin bowling.
