Grade 5 Philosothon at Melbourne Museum

IMG_0696 IMG_0698 IMG_0700 IMG_0702 IMG_0707 IMG_0709 IMG_0713         Last Friday, March 4th, Rylee, Abby, Aaron, George, Harriet and Jasmine from Grade 5 represented Toorak Primary School at the Melbourne Museum Philosothon. Using pictures and objects from the First Peoples exhibit the students were able to use questions quadrants and philosophical discussion to make claims and pose questions. Toorak Primary decided their question would be, “Why do some people have more power than others?”

It was a great opportunity to meet other students and also see the other exhibits too. A big thank you to Ms Emily Meyer-Grieve for attending the Philosothon and sharing her wealth of knowledge with the children.

Some feedback about the day from the students;

“I made lots of new friends and I hope I see them soon” (Jasmine).

“We all had a great time with our new friends and learnt a lot!” (Abby).

“I enjoyed the day because everyone was so lovely and inclusive” (Rylee).

“It was really nice to get together with some other schools and take a trip around the museum” (Harriet).

“It was really fun to get together and meet new students and explore the museum” (George).

“It was fun to meet new people from other schools and learn a few things about the museum” (Aaron).
