Hello Toorak Primary!

My name is Tracy Skiba and I am honoured to be your Assistant Principal. With fifteen years of experience as an educator, it is a pleasure to join the Toorak Primary learning community. I am looking forward to assisting Mrs. Manallack in making this a great end to the school year and supporting your children to achieve their best in years to come.

For the last two years I was the English Leading Teacher, Literacy Coach and Intervention Co-ordinator at Albert Park Primary School. During this time I assisted staff in other schools, such as Gardenvale Primary School, to model effective reading strategies. I also undertook Teacher-Led research through RMIT in effective writing approaches and wrote a whole school approach to the teaching and assessment of all aspects of English.

Prior to 2010 I taught across all year levels at Milleara Primary School in Keilor Heights. It was during this time that I trained as a Western Region School Based Literacy Coach and developed personalised student learning goals with staff.

I received my Bachelor of Education and Communications at Murdoch University in Western Australia, my home town, and yes I am a Fremantle Dockers supporter. I also taught there for two years before making the move to Melbourne in 2002 where I met my husband, a former student of Toorak Primary School. I live locally with my husband and our happy cocker spaniel and you may spot me on one of our many weekend walks in the area so please say hello.

This is just a little bit about me and I look forward to making your acquaintance over the coming weeks. I am here to support you in any way that I can and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
