On Mondays the Level 2 students have been practicing the skill of retelling the main events of a fiction text to a partner. This is helping to improve their comprehension skills; particularly in the area of summarising.
The task also requires the students to practice their speaking and listening skills with a partner.
First their partner reads a section of their chosen text to them.
Meanwhile, the partner listens carefully. Then the person reading attempts to orally retell the main events of the story in chronological order while the partner listens. They provide feedback and then swap over.
The students in 2B did a particularly wonderful job of this task on Monday 27th July.
