News from Grade 3

On Tuesday 23rd of July the Year 3 had a very successful House Athletics Day at Albert Park Lake. All students participated in many events such as Hurdles, 100m, 200m, Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump. It was a fun day and it was great to see everyone having a go.

In Inquiry this Term we are learning about Night and Day Science. Students have been set homework to complete the first five weeks of school. This project is due on Wednesday 14th August.  Students are to use their knowledge acquired throughout the term in Science to create a representation of day and night. They can choose to represent this by creating a model or detailed diagram (think tissue boxes, shoe boxes, plasticine etc).

In class time we will be completing a detailed PowerPoint presentation to go along with our learning. Our open classroom this term will be on Friday 16th of August 9:30-10am.

Homework books and Reading Logs will not be due on WEDNESDAYS, this gives teachers time to mark and see who needs to attend Homework Club on Thursday Lunchtimes. Please encourage your students to complete their homework. We will not be expecting homework books again until Monday 19th August as students prior to this will be working on their projects.

SAVE THE DATE: Year 3 Camp Information Session
