Through Term 3 Grades 5 and 6 have been working in depth on projects for Inquiry.
Grade 5’s History focus has been on Chinese migration to Australia, from 1851 during the Gold Rush. After a visit to the Chinese Immigration Museum, everyone felt inspired for the task ahead. They designed a collaborative picture book about Chinese Migration. They also produced a blog detailing what Chinese culture has brought to Australia.
Grade 6’s History focus has been on post World War 2 migration to Australia. Their task has been to create a website demonstrating various details about migration for specific groups of people from a range of assigned nations. Please see a few examples below.
Our focus for Science has been on chemical and physical change. All 5/6 students were given the task to design a science experiment and present their findings in small groups. We will be displaying our findings at our Science Fair, which will be held on Wednesday October 14th from 5:30 to 6:30.
