The safety and wellbeing of your children is of absolute importance to the staff at Toorak Primary School. It has been unfortunate that we have had two accidents occur recently on the junior playground but I would like to assure you we have listened to your feedback and have taken steps to make sure children are supervised and safe.
Firstly, we have reminded all staff to be particularly vigilant around the Foundation-grade 2 playground and to make sure students keep their shoes on when playing on the slippery slide. Staff are also on yard duty before and after school from 8:45am until 3:45pm and hover near this area. At the assembly on the 30th of October I also reminded all children about acting safely on the playground. Staff have informed me that the children have been taking greater care on the play equipment.
I would also like to take this moment to thank the parents and staff who assisted when these incidents occurred. We are only as strong as the people who make up our community.
