School Council Update for July

Our first School Council meeting for term 3 was held early in the term, and started with a couple of presentations from the Junior School Council. First, Millie in grade 4 gave a detailed and confident report about JSC activities, and we were particularly pleased to see the role they have taken on to sort and return lost property. Preparation for Toorak’s Got Talent is continuing, with JSC establishing the tasks to run the event.

We were also very happy to hear from Ailish, Kezia and Mia – the team who won the school election at the end of term three with their ideas for fundraising to support cancer research. We look forward to supporting their morning tea later in the year.

Through the sub-committee reports, I was reminded again of the great team of teachers we have at our school and how we rely on the school community to support them to deliver a range of positive, educational experience for our children.  The lunchtime clubs, development of a custodian garden next to the aviary and the forward looking Google Apps for Education program are all wonderful examples of initiatives from the teachers that enhance our kids’ schooling. Often they need parent and carer help to get things up and running, so please get involved if you see something that interests you or your family.
