Next Tuesday 6th June marks the start of Book Week at Toorak. The Scholastic Book Fair will open before and after school from Tuesday to Thursday next week in the hall, 8.30-8.55am and 3.35 to 4pm on Tuesday and Thursday and all day Wednesday so parents are encouraged to drop in and see all the wonderful things you can buy.
All classes will visit the Book Fair throughout the day on Wednesday 7th June. That will be a great day for students to bring their money along to buy some fabulous new books. Any profits made at the Scholastic Book Fair will go towards new books for our library.
To launch Book Week, we have a Book Character Dress Up day on Tuesday 6th.. Please assist by helping your child dress up as something fabulous, maybe Cat in the Hat, Cinderella or Harry Potter. Students will have the poet Brian Nankervis visiting on Tuesday morning and will get to hear and laugh along with his poems.
As an extra incentive to participate, every child who dresses up next Tuesday will go into a raffle and have a chance to win some Scholastic Book Fair Vouchers.
On Wednesday morning, we invite all Mums, Dads and/or grandparents to visit their child’s class from 9 to 9.30 am to read with their child in the classroom. Why not bring one of your child’s favourite books from home that day to read together?
It is going to be a great week, so please get involved and together celebrate the excitement, wonder and joy that books bring to our lives.
