Empowered Sleep Program

Next week we will begin the Empowered Sleep Program for Grade 4 – 6. All students have been inducted into the program and have been given one of the beautifully designed and illustrated journals.

The journal is their very own personal diary giving them their very own personal report card on their relationship with sleep. The students will not be marked or assessed on this, it is simply an exercise for them to bring more awareness to how sleep is impacting them on a daily basis.

They may discover some pretty cool things about themselves – whether they are getting enough sleep, if they are having a restful sleep, what helps have a good night sleep and what gets in the way.

All they have to do is record in their journal every morning – their teachers are also on board and will be allocating 5 minutes to fill out the chart by answering some very simple questions. From here they may start to see some patterns emerging. When they see things that work, that’s awesome! They can keep going with them. And when they see things that are not working, they have the power to make changes for themselves.

I will keep you update with weekly posts as we move through the 6 week program.

You may not know, a few weeks ago there was an article in the Herald Sun both online and in print, featuring the sleep program.
