Empowered Sleep Program – Week 2

Here we are, coming to the end of Week 2 of our Empowered Sleep Program!

The children and teachers are enjoying the process and the conversation that is coming from using the journals on a daily basis. Super well done to everyone so far! Some fantastic feedback already includes shifts from sleeping in parents beds to now sleeping in their own room and bed, recognising that screen use 30 minutes before bed is not enough screen-free time before trying to get to sleep, recognising the importance of being prepared in the evening to support a smooth morning, seeing that there is a vicious cycle between feeling sad and tired – they both feed into each other and eating junk and sugar makes it really hard to wake up in the morning and feel ready for the day.

These are all pretty amazing revelations and changes!

Our weekly reflection for this week is –

Breathing gently makes my body feel gentle. When my body feels gentle, it’s easier to get to sleep.

Enjoy the conversation with your children as we move through the program. It’s a great opportunity to ask them what they are learning about themselves.
