French Excursion to Celebrate Bastille Day at Auburn High School

On Tuesday the 14th July year 4C and year 5 students were invited to celebrate France’s National Day at Auburn High School. The students took part in a French lesson with Mme Charbonneau and together with her 5 student helpers created an Eiffel Tower using paper alone.  No sticky tape and no staples were allowed. They also engaged in a quiz and discovered that the  Tour Eiffel was in fact built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution.  Students engaged in a fencing lesson and were also able to buy crepes, chocolate rolls and lemonade. A great day with thanks to Auburn High School. The Eiffel Tower is illuminated during the traditional Bastille Day fireworks display in ParisBAstille day faces1
