Last week Grade 2 students had a fantastic time at their incursion with Lizzy from Lizzy’s Lizards. It was a great opportunity to extend their learning as part of our Inquiry unit on the life cycles of Mammals and Reptiles.
Here’s what some of the Grade 2’s had to say:
At Lizzies Lizards I learnt that when Dragon lizards want to be bossy they nod up and down to tell everybody that he is the boss. I enjoyed, looking at the Dragon lizard do his dance.
- Emilie
At Lizzies Lizards I learnt that blue is a poisonous colour in the wild. That is why Blue Tongue Lizards have blue tongues. I enjoyed, holding the huge python snake. It was about 4m long!
- Divit
My favourite part was when the baby possum came out. I learnt that snakes in Melbourne are venomous.
- Angelina
The best bit I saw from today was when Sandy the bearded dragon showed the other lizards who’s boss, but moving his head up and down and his neck had turned black! I learnt that frogs are first eggs, before turning into tadpoles and then into frogs.
- Alex
I learnt that Blue Tongue Lizards have live young. My favourite part was holding the biggest python
- Luca
I learnt that boy lizards have orange tummies and girl lizards have yellow tummies. My favourite part was when I saw the lizards.
- Elis
Lots of fun was had when students got to hold some of the slippery reptiles!
