Principal Message

Term Two has commenced without a hitch! All classes have settled into the new term with years three and five preparing for the NAPLAN (National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy)  assessments on 15, 16, 17 May. I would like to remind all families to ensure students are at school on these days to undertake the assessments. They cannot be taken at another time. Anzac Day on Wednesday April 25 is a public holiday so there will be no school on this day. The school will hold a service on  Tuesday April 24 at 9.15 to remember those who gave their lives for the freedom we now enjoy. Members of our school community are warmly invited to attend.

Stonnington Council has very generously provided a crossing supervisor for Brookville Road. The supervised crossing will be trialled during Term Two and will only continue if there are sufficient children using the crossing. If you come through the northern gates of the school, please encourage your children to cross in the appropriate area. There will be a staff member on the corner of Brookville and Canterbury directing students to the crossing.

On a personal note, I am thrilled to announce the birth of my first grandchild, Madeleine Grace, last Tuesday. Our family has waited a long time for our first grandchild and can’t wait to spend time with her. Thank you for your good wishes.
